How much meat is tradition to carry in pockets for Americans? Just in case, you know?

The tradition calls for around 2.2 pounds (1 Kg) of meat. On the east coast this tends to be in the form of hot dogs. In the middle of the country most people carry jerky (beef is most common, not surprisingly), and on the west coast you see dried fish (baccala), sometimes coated with sprouts and/or nuts.

Note that many carry less than the standard 2.2 pounds and some just carry a token amount.

Hope that helps. How much meat is tradition to carry in pockets for Americans? Just in case, you know?
